HOW A GENERATION OF WAI MONEY CAN GO UP IN SMOKE--- $20M OF IT.

SOME MAORI TRIBES LOST ALL THEIR SETTLMENT CLAIM FUNDS

NGATI TAMA LOST OUT & SO DID THEIR PEOPLE.

However, an iwi or tribe in NZ can lose all the money they receive from the Government of NZ is easy to fathom. Wai Claims allow urban authorities and those with indirect whakapapa or geneology to start and form trusts to receive such monies from the Government. The Government of course wants to wash their hands of these cases as they quickly aim to have direct negotiations with authorities who have no experience apart from being able to manipulate their followers by a numbers game. Then once a settlement occurs no matter what figure, its signed and thats the end of it all but genuine claims are now brushed aside as the Govt allows these claimants to do with the money as they wish. Its always been the same with Maori tribes and always will. Some in the family structure receive all the jobs and those smaller entities of families down the ladder miss out as their voice is never heard. But its not just in NZ. Its tribal and where it is tribal its the norm world wide the fittest win the not so fit lose. Have a look at Africa / Afghanistan all tribal where one tribe wins and the others are left out.

News that Ngati Tama lost nearly $20 million Treaty of Waitangi payout through failed investments comes as no surprise to many tribe members. They allowed the White's one family who no doubt was dominant in holding power to control their assets. Inexperienced as many are today they made failed investments and paid the costs. Of course those like in charge lost nothing out of it as they would have milked enough out of the coffers for themselves then said sorry & milked away into the background where they will wait until all is forgotten. But what of the families and children [ the tamariki ] and more to come thru; what of them and their investments. Will as we know with the subprime and the ratings agencies blaming it on a computer glitch causing the subprime bubble then crash these these families will have no nest egg---its all gone.
Mr White is one of seven directors of the company and his father was listed as the sole shareholder. Some board members did not know about the extent of the investment in the company. So for not informing the trust board (or the public for that matter) of the problem, having a clear conflict of interest in at least four companies and making the dodgy investment in the first place, Greg White is this weeks asshole award recipient. So while Greg White was administering the settlement funds, he was ensuring that they were invested in companies he was directly involved in and benefiting from.

OTHER TRIBES:

If this was in Africa he would be killed but then again they never allow this to happen and its not normally money thats involved but animals. In Asia he would be shot as villages are run by a kanman and those who did such a thing for self gain with themselves as directors would have to make a quick exit. Again it would not be for such a great amount if given by the government but rather would be part of the local yearly hand out for utilities, roadways, drainage etc. No doubt if one man got it the mob would do there best to take revenge--this is tribal also.

We call it utu but in NZ we cannot do such thing. In NZ he like many failed finance companies just melt away to come back another day with no penalty.

Trustees of the Ngati Tama Development Trust were described by iwi sources as autocratic, intimidating, naive and under-qualified just like many urban authorities and now Wai trust boards & even our own Authority-- as they are never veted by the Government.

ENTER THE MUAUPOKO TRIBAL AUTHORITY:

The same can be said for Muauapoko in the Horowhenua. Run as a closed shop oligarchy of whose who the MTA or Muaupoko Tribal Authority has chopped and changed over the last years with resignations, new faces brought in, old faces scared off and you name it. The Chairman has changed around 4 times in 12 years and the CEO a few more so what does that tell you. With a few firing the shots they are receiving government funding yet it seems they do not even have annual AGMs nor get into the affairs so special to Muaupoko like Lake Horowhenua. Everything is run as a closed shop and sad to see.

Sandra Williams who ran the failed Runanga back in the limelight but not just her Perry Warren took over from her & was just as bad.

Sad to see the state of Marae due to the many conflictions with brainless individuals

Geese to be culled May 2018
