Te Tumu Paeroa the new Maori Trustee

We work with owners of Māori land to protect and build their assets for now,
and for future generations.

THE MAORI PARTY & Te Tumu Paeroa

THE NEW MAORI TRUSTEE

Propped up by none other than Pita Sharples, Waitara's Jamie Tuuta will decide whether he can balance being chairman of a prominent Taranaki land holding company with his new role as the nation's Maori Trustee. Tuuta is from Ngati Mutunga, Ngati Tama, Te Atiawa, and Taranaki Tuturu, and holds governance positions, including being chairman of Parininihi ki Waitotara (PKW) since December 2008. He was also appointed to the Maori fisheries commission + others. With propping up the saying goes you help me and I help you so to get as many props as one can is the name of the game as per 2013

Knighthoods are fashionable now to silence Maori who receive them or for those who are hoping to receive one. Designed to not rock the boat by not being outspoken anymore for Maori they can presume to be given Commisioner roles etc to sit back. Its the "new wave" where some Maori get on as many trusts and committees and CFRT Trustees are part of this, making decisions to fund but cannot retract if they get it wrong? A knighthood can be given to a person who coaches sport??? yet was not designed to be for such talent and a sham but then its a way for the National party to also get votes by dishing them out to whom can assist them in the future. The very essense of a knighthood is now shredded to bits as they are given out as a simple handshake so have no meaning to anything but a pakeha way of getting ones favour within Maori. Ask Sir Douglas Graham who was convicted of fraud and yet he gets a slap on the hand and still retains his knighthood for those investors who lost all their money?

In the meantime laws that allow us owners to lose our rights to be on the Lake Trust in the Horowhenua rohe when 4 non owners dictate to us owners. c/o a useless Maori Land Court. It also means shareholders with majority shares have no say. If a minor shareholder has shares & can gift 1 share to 10 non owners in the original title lands they can out vote you. Again c/o the Maori Land Court who say they are only referees? Yet noone not even a SIR ever complains nor does Sharples & the others about these continuing injustices?

Where are we really heading to. As for the Maori Party with their own infighting to be the boss we tell everyone maybe you need to rethink if your vote is wasted which it is at this time as Labour takes the cake. Should you now consider to get off this Maori voting system as its not representative of you. Is it money----power---greed for those 3 MPs as these businesses are just that run by CEOs?? which scares even me a Maori. When this word CEO comes up its money and profits --people do not exist so in Jamies maiden speech listen but be careful. We nearly lost our farm to the Maori Trustee? & they forgot to collect the rents on other lands & we had to vote to forgive them yet they never paid us back as far as I am aware when they had money in the pot?

CEO is a USA name just like rehypothication is a new Bank name to remortgage your mortgage. The UK refrain from using such a horrid term as does Asia. Its American and hip yet it means one thing---money; not people, but you could lose your land. In the case of Te Tumu Paeroa its business not people as they are not government guaranteed and you as Maori Land owners may lose you lands if Jamie decides to fill the coffers up using your land as collateral to borrow. As NZ believe they are in a high then why are they selling our assets. We are pure and simply in debt and remember all govenrment lie. Of course you need to say it won't happen to me as Te Tumu hold $88m in assets but are these "realistic assets" similar to "rateable value assets " as we are now talking billions not millions anymore thanks to the Fed's $38billion printing press pumping out money each month from thin air with Japan hard its heels doing the same. A debt must be repaid so how do you think NZ will ever pay their debt once the interest rates start to go up---- they can't and then all those homeowners and farmers will also realize they won't be able to meet the payments. Fed free $$$ had to be injected into the economy to kick start the USA who is already in a $17 trillion deficit but in fact they should have sunk the banks in the bailout as next time they will just do that? But in NZ the subsequent low mortgage rates means investors took their money out of the Bank and bought up property as money was returning nothing in Banks. Forget even bonds? They then inflated the prices to now still increasing up to 5 fold in 2 years? 35 years ago a nice house in Mt Victoria Wellington was around $45000NZ. This same home today will cost you $900,000+. If you want to create inflation and devalue your currency, just print more money. But how does that relate to the NEW Te Tumu Paeroa.

Well for one Jamie might be the darling of the young up and comings but has he ever invested his own money into anything at risk to himself?? good question as on the website they have no background of any of their staff. He was part of PKW and Ngati Tama and his cousin is also working for the same company but did he actually put any of his own money up in business. In his past rolls this was working with owners and government monies not his own money. Remember we are in a new dimension--- from Govt backed to sole alone in 2.5 yrs??? then how will they make their money if Government stop the funding which is going to happen. You guessed it a NEW finance company is formed for Maori & they will gamble on using your funds which is land not quite dollars, to invest in ventures they feel are money making. Their port folio will tell you their asset base but its not really the true value just like a house that tripled in price in 3 years is worth what its vakue is --- its hyper inflation analysis at work. Well how else can they survive? Jamie can't lose as he was also appointed to the Maori fisheries commission so his pay packet is safe. So what is behind Sharples motives in elevating certain Maori to certain positions and turning what was once a govenment run org for those Maori owners. Thats easy as we now have a CEO dominated business enterprise with a Maori boy who hasn't particpated in the world of finance but spoon fed on government Waitangi returns and injections of cash from settlements etc to look the part.

Remember CEOs are rewarded on their deliverance of profits and or losses when they leave the USA way and NZ follows like sheep. Can you remember the days when they brought in USA hotshots to reshape hospitals etc -- they cut beds and people and thats how it works. But remember what happens to you as an investor of land will be a different story if Jamie has used your assets as collateral. We are reaching the height of no return and as you watch banks offer super low mortgage rates on short term, if you decide to buy with little equity you will lose all. If you have Maori land that you wish to administer use a lawyer to go over all the contracts and read the fine print and make sure your lands are safe from being reinvested and used as collateral for borrowing funds. If so you will be looking at the whims of Jamie using your land to borrow and buy whatever he thinks is appropriate.

At the Palmerston North Regional Roadshow there was no mention of government guarantees for Maori owners of land until a speaker in our team asked the question. There was no mention of his investment in Te Maori Lodges? nor how. There was no mention if he ever had his own company and track record of investment. He is a good talker and has the right approach with fan fare but with money you can display the best front just like Hanover did. One Rangitane Kaumatua brought up the waterways and pollution yet is not a major concern as its spending money he wants. But little does he understand the the whenua needs water. The body contains 70% of water. 1 Dairy cow drops 45kgs of excrement per day equivalent to 20-40 people. This now means 350,000 dairy cows is the same as 17 million people. Excrement does not break down & it must go some place?

Te Tumu Paeroa - is under pressure to dump its stake in a chain of hotels--did he mention this? It owns Te Maori Lodges, which has a 30% stake in Quantum Limited - a company running hotels. MPs on the Maori Affairs Select Committee have questioned why Te Tumu Paeroa is holding on to a poorly performing investment. So what else will our Jamie do next & remember he is young but hasn't lived in the other wider world.

Tuuta acknowledges most Maori are unwilling to sell their land and rights over natural resources."From a business perspective, this means that Maori asset holders need to perform better than any other business. It's all about free cash flow, because capital gain becomes irrelevant. "If I was to focus on where the key opportunity is, it is one of access to capital for Maori. That has been a focus and emphasis for me, to really understand how we might access Chinese capital and work with Chinese investors understanding the constraints and parameters under which they operate and what they can invest in." What Jamie forgets is how does the Chinese work? and how they think. But in saying this if they ONLY ask for produce per cash then OK. However if Jamie decides that its time to also start his own freezing works and processing plant as a way to expand the operation he may need more cash? from where and how will he do this.

He wants to:

1/. Unlock the potential of Maori land?

2/.Support the aspirations of owners in blocks we administer?

3/. Make sure all owners can discuss & make decisions about there whenua

4/. Ensure value for the future

Our last words are LAND IS LAND under your own control you retain your land. If You allow others to take control, you may lose whatever you had just like Ngati Tama, etc. Make sure you ask questions, make sure you read the fine print. Do not listen to hyper profits, bank talk and what they have done for this person & others--sales pitches? beware but its your choice & if not sure we are farmers & run our own after being botched by the Maori Trustee on 2 occassions in the past. Just remember why os the government now selling our land banks and our assets--has to be a real reason why we are getting close to yet another crash!!!Your opinions are welcome:
