The lakebed, dewatered zone, islands and the Hokio Stream are owned by beneficial members of the Muaupoko tribe 1511 of them in 81 shares, as determined by the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act (ROLD) 1956. The lake waters Muaupoko Domain, dewatered zone and one chain reserve strip in front of the Muaupoko Domain are vested under the Reserves Act 1977 in the Horowhenua Lake Domain Board. To date they have achieved nothing and even today sewerage is released into the Horowhenua Lake by the Council when it is overloaded.

The Lake Trustees decided to now remove the Nursery Building or Buildings on the Lake edge. Not sure as 2 buildings are there. We now see yet another asset owned by Muaupoko owners being lost as these idiots decide in their own interests and not that of the owners to destroy a building. You not only lose an asset but also if you start to rebuild again then you will have to have resource consent, costs etc. But in saying this a Court Judge has now stated Phil Taueki must reside here so all action will be stopped and the owners need to voice their displeasure against this Trust

Those who cannot think about clean waters are only after jobs for themselves like planting etc that does nothing to eradicate the Lake problems.

We have already seen the mess at Hokio Maori Township and Hokio Part A buildings. We had approx 5 bachs destroyed in the interests of a few and now we have this bunch of self serving Lake Trustees wanting to get rid of even more assets. Have a look at the Part A Hokio A houses that the squatters are in & noone pays rent. Check to see what the paint work is like, the gutterings and the non existent work they put in to live in homes for free yet the land owners miss out on rents and receive nothing. These properties get worse by the year as nothing is being done as the Council allows them free water and they pay nothing for sewerage costs--the land owners pay.

THE ARAWHATA STREAM DEBACLE

The Lake Accord on the 20th July 2014 is holding a meeting then next month it will be 1 year since the Accord started---- and achieved nothing---but they have bought a boat to monitor???? and those using it will no doubt be getting paid yet a boat does not monitor the inlets into the Lake does it as there are no monitors on the inlets? .

Watch and see how this tribe keeps taking one step backwards as these trustees can't think of a plan to use these buildings but at the same time most buildings don't even have a lease as this Trust does not interact wioth the Domain Board whose also useless? Reason why---these idiots can't formulate anything apart from money to themselves and thats why in the 45 years plus this Lake remains the same. The Lake Accord to date as at July 2014 haved done nothing except get paid to meet?? Tear down buildings you lose the consent that goes with it. Well these idiots can't think what they are doing.

The Awawhata stream bridge roading project in July 2014 has been stopped due maybe they have no proper resource consent by Horizons ? If so this means the roadway Higgins is building on Hokio Beach Road will not be finished now until resolved as the bridge over the Arawhata needs to be widened and finished. The problem as at July 2014 is the culverts for the bridge structure cannot be placed as water needs to pumped out??? So in the meantime the waste continues its journey into the Lake. See the jumble of a mess below of pipes etc

Is it a case of I no resource consent!!! or the designers complicate the works too much as you can see by the crazy pipe layouts & the inability of Higging contractors to complete the works. This bridge roadworks is a mess.

The mess of piping in the Arawhata Stream & in August 2014 the sewerage was perforated by a Higgins worler so guess where the sewerage went--the Lake of course.

On going as at August 2014 & no solution in sight & after a rain on August 1st on the 2nd the paddock where the dairy cows leaked into the stream and flooded into the Horowhenua Lake. It just goes on and on yet these Lake Trustees & Horizons have no solutions for this mess.

A week earlier Aug1st 2014 dairy cows were in this paddock. The runoff feeds the Arawhata Stream & drain by the fenceline which feeds into the stream. The cow sewerage feeds into the stream to the Lake unabated.

As you see the dairy cow runoff goes direct into the Horowhenua Lake August 2nd 2014. Note the flooded drain on this side of the fenceline which feeds direct into the main strean to the Lake --Horizons turns a blind eye as they want more dairy farms!!!!! and this will be an ongoing solution

August 2nd the flood of water from dairy land. Later in mid August a Higgins contractor fractured the new sewer pipeline TO THE POT just been installed & raw sewerage was discharged into the Awawhata Stream and Lake Horowhenua. Nothing was said about it; the media knew nothing and even Lester the Chairman of the Lake Domain Board was not aware of the fracture. Yet the Mayor; Warrington, Matakatea and Proctor all knew yet said nothing also until the October meeting 2014 when a speaker [being an owner stated the fact ].

Read what Chairman Lester said April 2015 when questioned about Monitoring equipment and the fracture of the swer line then make your mind up. Nothing was mentioned to the media or the public and was hushed up. It is not even mentioned in the Domain Board minutes

Yet this Accord wastes money on monitoring weeds and a Lake with their new boat and get paid for riding around in it. --There is no monitoring or filter equipment on the Arawhata inlet on this stream. Every heavy downpour allows runoff from the dairy paddocks and market gardens to flow direct into the Lake .
